Primary
2a
Term
1 has been very busy for our class!
In
maths we have been learning how to add and subtract up to 100 and
tell the time to o'clock and half past. We really enjoy trying to
beat each others scores on our favourite game, Stop the Clock!
Language
has seen us learning lots of new sounds. We use them to spell words,
to play games and during active spelling. Our favourite spelling
activity is Buried Treasure Phonics on the Smartboard.
PE
is lots of fun and helps us to keep fit and active. We have learned
games such as Beans, Port Starboard and Tunnel Tig. Mrs Ayres has
been teaching us throwing and catching skills with different sized
balls and bean bags, while Mrs Smith has been teaching us lots of
different movements in creative dance lessons based on Peter Pan.
Our
topic on dinosaurs has been very exciting! We have learned all about
their names and characteristics, such as which dinosaurs are
herbivores and carnivores. In writing we wrote a great poem all about
them!
Hopscotch
Theatre came in to visit us and did a fantastic performance all about
the SHANARRI indicators. The children learned 2 fabulous songs – We
Got the Rights and Hello Blue Sky (SHANARRI).
We
also had a visit from the Cash Cubs to promote saving money through
the Renfrewshire Credit Union.
Mrs
Smith, Mrs Ross and Primary 2a hope you have a wonderful October
Holiday!
